New Uaxactun	Codes and Ordinances
IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE, THE SOUTHERNMOST POSITION OF SUNSET ALONG THE HORIZON WILL OCCUR ON THE WINTER SOLSTICE. THE NORTHERNMOST: ON THE SUMMER SOLSTICE, AND ON THE EQUINOXES, DUE WEST.   IF THESE POSITIONS ARE RECORDED FROM A SPECIFIC VANTAGE, THE APPROXIMATE POSITION OF SUNSET ON ANY GIVEN DAY OF THE YEAR CAN BE DETERMINED.   CITIES HAVE EXISTED WHERE IT CAN BE HYPOTHESIZED THAT STRUCTURES WERE ARRANGED TO FACILITATE THESE AND SIMILAR ALIGNMENTS.
CRITERIA FOR OFFICIAL BUILDING STATUS:   As seen from the vantage in front of EVII Sub, Sunset must align with building on a fixed* date of significance.   * Easter, Thanksgiving, Etc. -- all of whom having roving calendar dates have been excluded.   For the purposes of this system, trees are not quantifiable as buildings, architectural structures, or structures of differentiable significance. Therefore, those aligning with fixed dates of significance have been left unacknowledged.
